Csaba PLÉH  is Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Professor of Psychology at the University of Szeged, Hungary, where he teaches history of psychology and cognitive science. His empirical research concerns the organization of sentence understanding and the language of space. At the same time he is working on understanding the relation of evolutionary ideas to the architecture of human cognition. His latest book is _A History of Psychology_ (Budapest: Osiris, 2000).
